Legal Cover Letters
In case of a legal cover letter two things are very much important. First of all is the appropriate introduction. Appearance, form of writing and style are also very significant in this aspect. To who the application is going to be sent is very vital. Every letter must be addressed to an authentic person.
A sound legal cover letter should have three paragraphs. First paragraph is for the information of the applicant, such as who he is, why is he writing and why that particular employer etc.
Second paragraph may cover the applicant’s capability, what does he has to offer etc. Third paragraph may include the question of what do the applicant want to do about it etc.
An example of standard legal cover letter is given below. Assuming Mr. Robert Hall ford, the recruiting coordinator of Abba, Anna & Ulrich, LLP.

I am Randy Rhodes currently a student of
I am devoted to using all of my law-yering abilities to assist the accused. This interest started when, as an undergraduate, I volunteered as a teacher at a young detention center. In my law school, my interest has raised as I have given effort at Cornell’s Death Penalty project. In that particular project I have studied and marked a brief submitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Your association’s specialization in the issue of death penalty defense agrees with my career objective.
If your firm is paying attention in allowing me for a summer position, I would be happy to fly to mid December for an interview at your convenience. I am looking further to hear from you. Thank you.
